S.M. Bolton Ghyll

S.M. Bolton Ghyll is one of the finest shoots in North Yorkshire, set over 4,000 acres and situated in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

The Shoot is run over two separate Estates Castle Bolton and Swinithwaite which are combined as one shoot. Visiting teams will enjoy both Estates when shooting with at S.M. Bolton Ghyll, this is a somewhat unique Yorkshire experience shooting over such varied terrain throughout all the days. Drives vary from rolling dales, cliff edges, deep wooded ghylls, steep banks and moorland edge drives. S.M. Bolton Ghyll have a wide variety of drives that cater to all levels of experience, but with an emphasis on quality across all of them.

Hospitality at S.M. Bolton Ghyll is at the forefront of the shoot, the catering is split between the shoot room at Swinithwaite and Bolton Hall where the chefs prepare delicious elevenses and lunches for all guests. The meat is all sourced from either the shoot or Swinithwaite Estate.

S.M. Bolton Ghyll shoot driven Partridges from 1^st September through to the end of October with bags ranging from 250 to 400 birds per day. Mixed Pheasant/Partridge days start from November through to the end of January with bags ranging from 250 to 500 birds per day. The shoot is able to offer teams back to back days as well as single days to suit the client’s needs. We would recommend that teams shooting over 300 birds should shoot with double guns or have estate loaders for their days if using single guns.
